This is a BDM / JM service book for JM Sports. It is similar to the HJ Im Dienst (HJ In Service) and Pimpf Im Dienst (DJ In Service). The book is in good condition for its age. The only writing is the original owner's name (Ellen Müller, I think) on inside front cover page. This also includes a December 16, 1941 personal letter to Ellen from her JM group. The letter starts off by thanking Ellen for her letter and mentions Christmas which was obvioulsy close.

This is a softcover booklet with photos on about half of its 32 pages. It is a short history of the beginning of the Third Reich. The book is dedicated to graduating students by the city of Munich. There are several pictures of Hitler. There is one page that shows the "Heros of 9 November 1923," the date of Hitler's attempt to overthrow the government by force. These are the 16 people that died on that day, and each person is identified by his position including such things as salesman, waiter, bank clerk, etc. There is a large photo of HJ members marching on the cover of the booklet.

Drei Werden Pimpfe = Three Become Deutsches Jungvolk (DJ is the part of the HJ for 10 to 14 year old boys). This is a hardcover book about 4.75 inches wide by 7.25 inches high. 79 Pages. This book is mostly text with 5 pages of photographs (4 large photos 1 per page plus one page with 2 photos on it). Text entirely in German. I don't know the year of publication, probably 1935 or 1936. The cover appears to have substantial water damage, but to me it looks much worse than it is. It seems to be just discoloration. The front cover is sound and rigid. None of the discoloration is on any page. It is only on the front of the front cover and a little bit on the back of the front cover.

This is a hardcover book about 6 by 9.25 inches with 144 pages. There are 6 pages of photographs and quite a few drawings of HJ, DJ, BDM and other things. The calendar portion is at the beginning with one month per page and a drawing of HJ/DJ or BDM that takes up more than half of each calendar page. The rest of the book is taken up with stories, poems and songs with quite a few illustrations. This book shows a good bit of wear and most of the pages are lose, although I belive that all of the pages are present. No marks except owner's name on inside front cover and remnants of a sticker on the inside back cover. In the Flag Holder image, it is interesting to note the use of a non-standard HJ scarf slide.

This is a small, soft cover booklet about 4 inches by 6 inches square. It has 16 pages. This is a book of games for DJ = Deutsches Jungvolk = part of the HJ for 10 to 14 year olds. This booklet was not prepared by the Hitler Youth (although it may have been approved by that organization). This is a booklet (all words on the inside) which has one or two games per page. I assume these are board games sold by the company that produced this booklet. The names of the games are: (1) Was wird aus Hieronymus? = What Becomes Out of Hieronymus. Hieronymus is an unfortunate member of the HJ / DJ, referred to as a Pimpf.; (2) Die herrliche Windbüchse = The Wonderful Wind Can; (3) Der kleine Klaus and der grosse Klaus = The small Klaus and the large Klaus plus plenty of others.<

This is a small, softcover book "Werdendes Volk sind wir, stürmendes Leben" = "Becoming People Are We, Storming Life." This is a bunch of poems and possibly song lyrics for the HJ. The book is 40 pages. It was published early, in 1934. This is a note on the title page dated October 14, 1934, presumably to the person to whom the booklet was given. There are two prints or drawings inside. The rest is text. Mostly there is one poem per page. Paper is aged with some spots. The only writing is the note on the title page.

Kinder Werden Pimpfe = Children Become Deutsches Jungvolk (DJ is the part of the HJ for 10 to 14 year old boys). This is a hardcover book about 5 inches wide by 8 inches high. 103 Pages. This book is mostly text with 9 drawings. Text entirely in German. I don't know the year of publication, probably 1935 or 1936.

This is a softcover book for the KLV Lager = Kinderlandverschickung Lager = Child Land Movement Camp. These were camps in the country where German children could be moved away from the cities that attracted bombs. These were run by the HJ. The pages in this volume run from 65 through 128, so the pages must have been numbered for the entire year. The book includes a lot of text plus songs, what look like poems, schedules and some drawings. One page is torn. The book is in generally bad condition with wear, age and damage. Still it is complete, and these KLV booklets are quite rare.

This is the Hitler Youth training manual for boys age 10 to 14, the Deutsches Jungvolk (DJ) also know as the Pimpf. 1934 edition. 348 pages. Pretty good, sound condition. No writing that I can find.

This is a soft cover training course book for the HJ. It is 48 pages of mostly text. The subject of the book is the war with England. There are interesting drawings: (1) a caricature of England (as a minister wrapped in British flag) ignoring problems; (2) a caricature of Churchill as a clown; (3) a drawing of a ship, a submarine and a torpedo, (4) a map of the world, (5) three drawings showing the mine barrier along England's coast. There are two photos, one showing England's leaders of tomorrow (students dressed in formal wear and top hats) and the other showing Germany's young political leaders all dressed in uniforms and marching. This book is in reasonably good shape. The paper shows aging.

This is a soft cover training course book for the HJ. It is 48 pages of mostly text with 6 drawings, one song and a poem. This volume is about Germany's sea power. It has articles that were to be read and discussed at Hitler Youth meetings. This volume Germany at sea generally with articles about the Kriegsmarine (KM) and U-boats in the fight against England. This book is somewhat worn, a little split at the seam, some damage to the front cover and first page.

Very early book of songs for the Hitler Youth. Size about 4.5 by 6.5 inches. 22 pages.

This is a small size booklet entitled "Die Deutsche Jugend im Kriege" = "The German Youth In The War." The booklet is about 5.75 by 8 inches and consists or 24 pages all in German. The booklet is dedicated to the oppening of the HJ film hours. It was published in 1942/43, and it consists of two sections, one written by the propaganda minister Dr. Joeseph Geobbels and the other written by the national youth leader Arthur Axmann. The cover is stained and the paper is aged, but it is still in reasonable condition.

This is a hard cover book about 5 by 7 inches. It is in really nice condition except for aging of the paper and I think I saw some discoloration on one of the pages, but I can't find it now. It is 80 pages, mostly text with two color plates.

This is a book about the Landjahr. It is mostly photographs of HJ and BDM. More photos of the BDM than you often find in these kinds of books. Size about 8 by 9.75. 96 pages. I believe 3 pages have tears, but basically in nice, used condition. Quite hard to find.

This is a large size (about 9.25 by 12.25 inches) songbook. There is no line on the left side of the book. It appears in the scan, because my scanner is not large enough to scan the entire cover at one time, so the image here is a composite of two scans.

In 1920 Heinrich Hoffmann joined the NSDAP. He became friends with Adolf Hitler who selected him as his personal photographer. By 1945 he had taken over 2.5 million photographs of Hitler. Hoffmann was the son of a successful photographer. He became Hitler’s constant companion near the beginning of his political career. For many years he had the exclusive rights to photograph Hitler.

Hoffmann introduced Hitler to Eva Braun (Hitler’s future wife) who was working in Hoffmann’s Munich studio. Hoffmann was the person who insisted that Hitler receive royalties from the use of his image on postage stamps. Although Hitler was already rich from the royalties on the sale of Mein Kampf, the royalties on the use of his image made him even richer (and no doubt endeared Hoffmann to Hitler). And Hoffmann’s exclusive rights to photograph Hitler and his publication of photograph books about Hitler made Hoffmann a very rich man also.

About half the time (I think) the books have introductions by Baldur von Schirach, Reichsjugendführer (National Youth Leader). He was the leader of the Hitler Youth. Von Schirach claimed that he was descended from two signers of the United States Declaration of Independence. He married Hoffmann’s daughter, Henriette Hoffmann.

96 pages. Almost all photographs. Has many interesting photographs including some showing HJ uniform variations I've never seen anywhere else. Shows wear and age, but very nice condition for this book.
